H.P. Lovecraft's Re-Animator (1985)

A brilliant medical student has perfected a green-glowing serum for regenerating life. When an ambitious, more powerful doctor steals control of the experiments, things get ghastly necessity.

Directed by Stuart Gordon, the film is based on HP Lovecraft's story. It also was instrumental in redefining the horror/sci-fi line much like the 1930s Universal films did back in their day.

"Pic has a grisly sense of humor, and sometimes is so gross and over the top the film tips over into a bizarre comedy." -Variety
