It all started at the late, lamented Orson Welles Cinemas. It was a film marathon. It has been that way since 1976, but now it is simply called The 'Thon. The 'THON is a 24 hour film marathon. From noon until noon the following day, the 'Thon highlights the best films of the fest plus a retrospective of classic films.

The Fest is a run up to The 'Thon. It runs from Feb 10 through the 18th. Films submitted and curated run every day. Features shorts, and new this year Steampunk films from all over the world are highlighted.
The Festival actively seeks new film makers with vision that is why we use Without a Box for submissions. If you are a film maker and have a film, by all mean submit it. You may even win our coveted Gort Award.

Every year since the 'Thon has bloomed, like the fabled 'Brigadoon', in winter to bring a community of SF lovers together. Sharing one room for 24 straight hours with 600 like minded fans is a communal event second to none.
